It is well over 1 year ago that we did our first wellness & wellbeing events. The events came about due to my personal interest in to wanting to learn how to improve my appearance by using beauty products. A lovely lady working on the John Lewis Lancôme/YSL counter came to my aid and over several weeks gave me advice and tips on beauty products that would be suitable for me. One day she asked if I would like to attend a make-up master class, I jumped at the chance, and since then have been attended several other events. At one of these events, I got the idea that this was something I could do too.
The lady from the Lancôme counter is now my good friend Nicola, she has given me lots of advice about hosting events and has helped me plan them. Our first events were done in the ‘Style Studio’ which is on the first floor of John Lewis in the Nottingham Victoria Centre. The events were small scale with a maximum of 10 attendees. The limitation being the size of the venue. At that time, I had no social media skills, no website, just nothing. To advertise it was just word of mouth and adverts in local newspapers. To help with the advertising the first thing I did was create a website called J4Y-Promotions.co.uk using the online GoDaddy service. Following on from these events I soon realised that I had to get up to speed with my social media skills. Initially I made a right hack of it, so when I started to advertise our first big event which was going to be in April at the Belgrave Rooms which is in Nottingham city centre.
Good old Metta (parent company of Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp) decided to act against the way I was aggressively tying to exploit Facebooks advertising algorithms, and so it came to pass they deleted my account, unless I could redeem myself, I told them to delete the accounts. So, my advertising was back to word of mouth and posting flyers all over the city for the centre and outer regions for our Belgrave event. The theme of the Belgrave event would be based on information I had picked up from visiting White Light Events and Mind Body & Spirit wellbeing events. Between the two companies they currently work from many venues in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire. After the Belgrave wellness & wellbeing event, June 2024 I set up J4Y-Promotions Ltd and started putting more effort into the website to give it a professional look and feel. I upgraded the search Engine Optimization feature (SEO) too.
Using social media correctly was a learning curve too. I could not afford another setback with Metta. We now have many friends and followers on Facebook & Instagram. I now see the importance of creating and administrating our own social media groups. If you have an established networking group the admins from other groups reach out to you. I believe social networking groups are the most established method for advertising events. For corporate networking, LinkedIn has be the go-to application to get the word out to your followers. It plays an important role of bringing like mended individuals together and finding the experts to fill in the gaps of the parts where we don’t possess the necessary skills or knowledge. The statistics tell us it takes up to 4 years for a company becomes profitable. It’s just like running a business, you just keep having to keep chipping away at it. On LinkedIn you need 1000 plus subscribers before you can make an impression for the algorithms to start taking notice of you. In summary to succeed with social networking keep posting on you own channel and comment regularly on the posts of others. Eventually the search algorithms start picking up on your posts and making them more noticeable to others not in your social group.

Our upcoming Beauty & Beyond events are a culmination of what I have learned from our previous wellbeing events and my observations while attending corporate networking events. I am now convinced the best way to run our wellness & wellbeing events is to incorporate a point-of-sale approach while infusing a degree of corporate networking into the recipe.

Mental health & wellbeing too can be improved learning new skills. As a reputable organization in the field, we believe that your participation would greatly enhance the event and provide valuable insights to our attendees.
For our Beauty & Beyond events we offer various exhibition packages to suit your needs and budget, including stand space, marketing opportunities, and promotional activities to maximise your participation and ensure a successful event for all involved.
Our first event will be held in Nottingham city centre on the 26 of March 2025 at the Revolución De Cuba. We chose this venue as the best from several we have recently visited because of its nostalgic atmosphere. It is also possible to have an after-event dance party here too. Our intention is to run several of these events throughout 2025. Ensuring each event has a similar theme is a good means of increasing awareness and growing our social media networks.
We will start the events from Nottingham city centre. The intention being to create ripples in a pond that travel out from the epicentre (the city). We will soon start adding more events in the suburban areas too. As with most event advertising word-of-mouth is most influential. It will also allow us to better understand the balance between corporate and public promotional events (I would like to combine them), the best day & time and to find the best venues.

There will Point of Sale (POS) capability too, if that's that nature of your business I recommend that you take the 2.5 by 6.0 feet stand/stall. If you have seen the Eventbrite tickets sales you will be aware there are two stall/stand options. The intent is to have a maximum of 25 stall holders/stands which should give enough diversity for most aspects of Wellness & Wellbeing.
Please note that 'Beauty & Beyond' events transcend the typical market trading events. They are dynamic hybrid networking experiences designed to catalyse growth and innovation within the Wellness & Wellbeing industry.
This event will include prize draws, master class workshops and so on. There is a full buffet (20 pounds PP) and welcome drink included with every exhibitor/attendee ticket sale too. As mentioned in the previous email its my 70th birthday, everyone is invited too.
